Many employers have begun to realize the benefits of mandatory vaccinations and have implemented policies that require employees to be vaccinated against dangerous diseases. The benefits are mainly with respect to the company’s safety, but also with respect to employee health and productivity. However, there is a growing number of employers who will forego these benefits if they are not required by law because they don’t want to put themselves in a vulnerable position where they can receive significant legal or financial penalties.
Intel’s decision to put unvaccinated employees on unpaid leave
Intel’s decision to put unvaccinated employees on unpaid leave was applauded by the public and also by organizations such as The American Council of Science and Health. Even though many people in the US have decided not to vaccinate their children, some people feel that this decision is unfair to children who cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons or are too young for vaccinations. Employees will still be allowed to work while they are undergoing the vaccination process which may take up to two weeks.
